I've been been writing short stories for as long as I can remember. I've been published in the anthology 'Matter 4' and shortlisted for the Royal Literary Fund mentor scheme and the Northern Writer's Awards. In 2005 I won a Northern Promise Award and in 2008 I signed a two book deal with Orion Publishing. My debut novel, DRY SEASON is inspired by the four years I spent living in the interior of Brazil
